An Appeal


The Museum of Christian Art, Goa, the first of its kind in the whole of Asia with an unique Indo - Portuguese art objects was set up in 1994 and is receiving national and international acclaim. The Museum has embarked on a major and exciting project which will totally transform and upgrade the Museum to the latest world standards of museology and museography as well as enhance visitor experience.

The project, estimated to cost Rs. 5.5 crores and which includes the setting up of a much needed restoration unit is being executed by the Museum in collaboration with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation of Portugal and INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage) New Delhi.

The Ministry of Culture, New Delhi have shown keen interest in this exciting project and have sanctioned a grant of Rs. 4 crores towards the project on the clear understanding that the Museum will fund the balance cost.

The Museum seeks your generous support to this much needed cause of preserving for posterity; Goa's rich cultural heritage in the form of sponsorship of individual display cases, details of which are contained in the attached booklet. Your contribution will be received with gratitude and your name or your family members name will be enshrined in the Museum in the prominently located List of Donors Board.
