A Beginner Embroidery Workshop with Aira Mirchandani

From Thread to Art: A Beginner Embroidery Workshop with Aira Mirchandani

Join us for a two-day immersive Embroidery Workshop at the Museum of Christian Art, where craft, culture, and creativity come together in a meaningful celebration of heritage!

On Day 1- 22nd June, participants will be introduced to the intricate world of embroidery. Through guided, hands-on learning, you will explore a variety of traditional stitches. Whether you’re completely new to embroidery or looking to strengthen your existing skills, this session will offer valuable techniques, tips, and the joy of slow, mindful making.

On Day 2- 29th June, it’s time to put your new skills into practice! Drawing inspiration from the beautiful motifs, patterns, and symbols found in MoCA’s unique collection, participants will create their own personalised embroidered piece. This is a special opportunity to creatively engage with the museum’s objects and stories—bringing elements of Goa’s rich artistic legacy to life through needle and thread!

By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave not just with a handcrafted artwork, but with a deeper appreciation for embroidery as a living art form that connects us to history, culture, and community.

Dates: 22nd June and 29th June, 2025

Time: 10:00 AM

Fee: INR 1500 (INR 750 per session, inclusive of all materials)
