Carols on the Hill

2021 edition of MoCA annual Christmas festival

The Museum of Christian Art (MoCA) organised the second edition of their annual Christmas event, ‘Carols On The Hill’. This year, the event saw the addition of three sub events, namely, the Natal Pop-up, the Little Angels contest and the Sleeping Santas contest.

The Natal Pop-up held at the MoCA courtyard was a mini Christmas pop-up which had on sale a range of Christmas crafts, decorations, gifts, sweets as well as plants and succulents.

The Little Angels contest saw the participation of children between three and ten years. In the sub-junior category, the winners were Edward Baretto and Lauren Baretto. In the junior category, the winners were Adele Stephens and Nadya Stephens. Carol performances were held at the Church of Santa Monica and commenced with the participants of the Little Angels contest walking in candle light to the tune of ‘Silent Night’. Carols such as ‘Silent Night’, ‘Mary Did You Know’, ‘Marie Matek Ballok Zala’, and ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’ were rendered by musicians Tiffany and Danielle Martins.

This was followed by a choral performance by the Stuti Choral Ensemble and the Goa University choir. This special choral performance conducted by Parvesh Java and the last of a series of concerts by the two choral groups, was a tribute to the late maestro Santiago Lusardi Girelli, the former conductor of the Goa University Choir.
