Step into the vibrant world of Chitari Art, a centuries-old tradition where wood comes alive with vivid colours and intricate patterns. Rooted in devotional and festival decorations, the Chitaris have long been Goa’s master artisans crafting painted toys, ritual objects, and ornate designs that celebrate community, faith, and everyday beauty. Each stroke tells a story, blending imagination with heritage.

Hailing from a family of traditional Chitaris in Cuncolim, Vinod Prabhakar Mardolkar has dedicated his life to preserving and practicing this ancestral art form. With over 19 years of experience as a craftsman and carpenter at the Goa College of Architecture, Vinod continues his family’s five- generation legacy of artistry — from painted toys and festival décor to intricate wooden creations that keep this artform alive.
