About the speakers:
Anupam Sah is the Head of Art Conservation, Research, and Training at CSMVS Museum, Mumbai. His Systems Approach-based work that networks community-led cultural heritage conservation with socio-economic-ecological development is widely acknowledged. His prime interest these days is strengthening art conservation facilities and building capacity in India with the support of like-minded organizations and individuals.
He has been conferred with the Sanskriti Award for Social and Cultural Achievement, Unesco Asia-Pacific commendations, and Knighthood of the Order of the Star of Italy for excellence in art conservation.
Nilabh Sinha is the Principal Director of INTACH Conservation Institutes (ICI). He has been the project leader of many architectural and material conservation projects as well as those involving museums and interpretation centers. His recent work has focused on developing indigenous and simple methods for conservation practices in India so that trained conservators who have limited resources could easily follow these. His focus on training and capacity building of conservators in India has been instrumental in developing international relations with countries like Germany, Poland, Italy, England, Holland, Switzerland, etc. for developing training courses to meet specific conservation needs of Indian conservators. He is actively involved in various academic programs in art conservation in India
