Searching for Ceiling Flowers

Primarily based on research, brand thinking and design, this talk will explore the aesthetic and conceptual choices that went into designing the iconic logo and the identity of the Museum of Christian Art in Old Goa. In 2020, when the physical Museum underwent refurbishment, and its objects were being restored, a parallel project to re-visualise the Museums communication strategies was initiated. We will take a close look at the nuance of choices that went into making the MoCA Identity, the geographical and historical references and four centuries of cultural negotiations that translate into type, colour, layout, spacing and storytelling for a museum of the 21st century.
