Rachol was home to the main fortification of Salcete and the site of many skirmishes between the Portuguese and Bijapur as well as the Marathas. It was also the epicentre of Jesuit activity in the South, resulting in several exquisite works of art being commissioned. We will also explore the lesser known Ilha de Rachol.
