The Museum of Christian Art, Old Goa, invites you to a panel discussion In the Shade of the ‘Calpataru’ on Thursday, 15th February 2018 at Gallery Gitanjali, Panjim, Goa. In the panel Jonathan Gil Harris, Aneesh Pradhan, and Ranjit Hoskote will explore the cultural expressions — literary and musical — that were nourished by Goa's polygot (Portuguese-Konkani-English-Marathi) ethos.
This academic programme is part of the ‘Itinerant Institute: Metro City Outreach Programme’ organized by CSMVS as part of the ongoing international exhibition India and the World: A History in Nine Stories.

About India and the World
This exhibition is presented as a collaboration between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS), Mumbai; the British Museum in London and the National Museum, New Delhi. The highlight of the exhibition is the strong connections India has shared historically with the rest of the world promoting an exchange of ideas and influences that have helped create a global culture.
Around 200 objects from the collections of the British Museum, London; CSMVS, Mumbai; and National Museum, New Delhi as well as from around 20 museums and collections across India including the Museum of Christian Art, Old Goa are being showcased at the exhibition.
The exhibition is currently on at the CSMVS, Mumbai till 18th February 2018 and at the National Museum, New Delhi from 16th April till 30th June 2018.
