Urraca: The Spirit That Stole a Name
The word “urraca” travelled via Portuguese sea routes to Goa from Southeast Asia. Once used to refer to coconut spirit, it later became synonymous with cashew spirit, revealing a story of power, taste, and tradition in Goa.
Hansel Vaz, The Feni Doutor, is a geologist, feni polymath, and liquor entrepreneur with generations of distilling expertise. Renowned for his maverick approach to feni, he has won numerous accolades. As the creator of Cazulo Premium Feni and Fazenda Cazulo, he is now crafting what promises to be his most exciting feni yet.
